Now that Mayor Muriel Bowser has signed the “Ward Redistricting Amendment Acr of 2021”, setting the new ward boundaries as of Jan. 1, 2022, residents can turn their attention to Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC).

Many residents of the Hill are now living in Ward 7; many folks in Navy Yard are now part of Ward 8. More change is coming, however.

Boundaries for each ANC and Single Member District (SMD) must also be redrawn as part of the ongoing redistricting process.

The Councilmember for each ward must establish a task force to make recommendations on these boundaries. If you are a voter registered in Ward 7 or 8 and interested in serving on the task force, you should contact your councilmember.

Ward 7 residents should complete this form: Ward 7 ANC Redistricting Task Force

Ward 8 Residents are encouraged to join the Ward 8 Redistricting Committee zoom meeting on Jan. 19 at 6:00 p.m. to learn more about the plan for new boundaries. Register to attend: https://tinyurl.com/redistrictingWard8 Chairman Brain K. Thompson may be contacted 8A03@anc.dc.gov for more information.
