You can bring bulk trash items and debris to a drop-off site this weekend at no cost!
The Mayor’s Office of the Clean City and the Department of Public Works (DPW) have announced that Saturday, Sept. 14th is ‘Roll-Off Day’ in Ward 6. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 500 K Street NE.
Roll-Off Day allows you to dispose of bulk trash and other debris and learn about other DC government agencies. Meet 311 operators, report service requests, and learn about how you can reduce waste, save energy, and prevent pollution in the District’s neighborhoods and environment.
- Dispose of bulk trash in the dumpster. No hazardous materials (including paint) accepted.
- Recycle accepted electronics courtesy of Wisetek. Click here for a list of accepted items.
- Donate gently used furniture and clothing items to A Wider Circle. Follow this link for details on what is and is not accepted.

Space is limited. For disposal of hazardous materials, paint, or any items outside of this event’s hours, please visit the Fort Totten Transfer Station (4900 John McCormack Rd. NE), open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday.
