Brent Celebrates 15 Years of the Holiday Tree Sale!

Brent Elementary proudly celebrated the 15th anniversary of its Holiday Tree Sale with the most successful year in the event’s history happening in 2025.

Held for the first time at the new Canal Park location as the building at North Carolina and Fourth Street SE is demolished and rebuilt, the sale reflected both the growth of the event and the strength of the Brent community. This year, families and neighbors purchased more than 800 Christmas trees, nearly 600 wreaths and garlands, close to 200 poinsettias, 75 handmade bows, and a wide selection of Hanukkah items.

Community partnerships and giving expanded significantly. Three Brent-based Girl Scout troops joined the sale for the first time, selling dozens of boxes of cookies. As in past years, Brent partnered with Everyone Home DC through the “Donate a Tree” program, delivering trees, lights, and ornaments to approximately 30 families this holiday season.

New collaborations also extended Brent’s impact beyond the school, including a first-time partnership with Van Ness Elementary, with all poinsettia proceeds benefiting their PTO.

The move to Canal Park was made possible thanks to the support of WC Smith and the Capitol Riverfront BID.
