The Capitol Hill Art Walk is a great opportunity to get in your steps while enjoying local arts and crafts. This free, two-day event, held Saturday and Sunday, September 13-14, 12 noon -4 p.m., is a celebration of the creativity of over 100 artists and crafters. At over 50 locations in parks, front yards, studios and homes, you can chat with the makers while enjoying the ambience of our historic neighborhood.
Look for jewelry, baskets, ceramics, textiles (up-cycled clothing, dolls, and rugs). All styles of art, paintings, prints, photographs, mixed-media art and drawings by both up-and-coming and established artists are for sale.
The Capitol Hill Art Walk is sponsored by the Capitol Hill Art League, a project of the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, Hill Rag, Capitol Hill Restoration Society, and Hill Center at the Old Naval Hospital. Up-to-date information, including a list of artists and locations, can be found at hillrag.com/art-walk-2025. A map will be posted there in late August and published in the print edition of the September Hill Rag.
The artists in this year’s Capitol Hill Ark Walk include over 40 first-time participants. Here are brief profiles of four of them, illustrating the depth of talent that will be on display.

Adam Godet is a fabulous furniture craftsman creating beautiful pieces in his Godet Woodworking studio, a converted garage space at the back of his home. Adam learned his craft from family members and polished his skills by taking a woodworking class at an Arlington Adult education program. He has been a full-time furniture maker since 2021 and shows his masterpieces on his website and at craft shows around the area. While Adam often makes large furniture pieces, he recently helped a family create a unique memorial box. Shaped in the form of a fishing tacklebox, it stands as a fond reminder of a loved one’s favorite pastime. Adam also teaches woodworking classes and looks forward to talking to you about commissioned work. godetfurniture.com.

Daniel Haas is known by many as a legendary wine importer. He has won numerous international awards for his work in the wine industry, including top food and wine importer of the year in 2009. Daniel is now happy to be pursuing his painting and sculpting practice full time. He is opening his home for the Art Walk to share his framed watercolor abstracts and small sculptures that are bold in color and primitive in style. Danny also enjoys producing brightly colored, 6 x 6 inch tiles. Much of his work is abstract featuring hidden images and faces. His home is an unusual and interesting interior design for Capitol Hill, the perfect showcase for his artwork. It will be a real treat to see this September. danielhaasart.com

Chase Mullins’s photo representational art is a must see at this year’s Art Walk. He is a self-taught acrylic painter pursuing his love of art full time, while also being a full-time dad. Chase moved to Capitol Hill three years ago with his wife and now two children and dog, Moose. He is currently working on a stunning series of paintings featuring hands against a white background. At first glance, you would swear they are photographs. An international traveler, Chase has honed his painting skills while living not only in DC, but in Senegal and Toronto. His work has been part of the Pancakes and Booze pop-up art show in DC and has been featured in solo shows around the world. www.chasemullins.ca

Sabrina Mora is new to Capitol Hill, having recently relocated from Peru with her husband. She brings her nostalgic and skillful collage artwork to share and is excited to meet art lovers during this year’s walk. While shopping in New York, Sabrina came across a stack of 1930s magazines. During the pandemic quarantine, she began creating collages by blending elements from the vintage magazines with pressed flowers and layered textures. Many of her works are three-dimensional, finished in acrylic box frames. Sabrina also offers custom pieces using baby announcements or other personal memorabilia. Her work is beautiful and sized just right for Hill spaces. www.instagram.com/laregaleriaperu
