Police Find Three Shooting Victims Near Eastern Market

A huge police and ambulance presence converged just north of Eastern Market a little after noon Sunday.

Police said three victims with gunshot wounds were located on the 700 block of Independence Avenue SE around 12:30 p.m. May 19.

Police said they believed the victims were wounded in a shooting reported about ten minutes prior on the 4200 block of Edson Place NE, near Fort Mahan Park.

Representatives for the Metropolitan Polcie Department (MPD) said the victims were all adult males. One was unconcious but breathing; the other two are conscious. The injuries do not appear to be life-threatening at this time, the representative said, cautioning that it was early in the investigation.

A lookout was issued in the Edson Place shooting for a possible white Nissan Sentra.
