Police Seek Man in Southeast Sexual Assault

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Sexual Assault Unit seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a man who sexually assaulted a woman inside of the Hopkins Apartments (1430 L Street SE).

On Monday, April 1, 2024, at approximately 6:30 p.m. the suspect entered the building. He forced the victim at knifepoint to engage in an unwanted sexual act. The suspect then fled the scene.

Anyone who can identify this suspect or who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your anonymous tips, photos or video to the Department’s Text Tip Line at 50411.  MPD currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for a crime committed in the District of Columbia.

MPD Searching for Vehicle in Northeast Armed Robbery

The MPD First District Detectives Unit are seeking the community’s help to locate a vehicle involved in an armed robbery.

On Wednesday, April 3, at around 12:35 a.m., the victim was biking home in the 300 block of E Street NE, when a black SUV pulled up beside him. The suspect in the passenger seat exited the vehicle and demanded the victim’s property. The driver pointed a gun at the victim, who complied. The suspects drove off with the victim’s property.

The suspect’s vehicle was captured by nearby surveillance cameras and can be seen in the photo.
