Blotter: Robberies in Southwest, Carjacking in Northeast

Police said a teenager was arrested in an Assault with Intent to Murder on the 1000 block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE.

On Wednesday, Jan. 3, around 8:47 a.m. a man was shot at, close to the intersection of Tenth and Pennsylvania Avenue SE. The victim was not hit, but the suspect fled the scene.

On Friday, Feb. 2, a 16-year-old resident of Southeast was arrested and charged with Assault with Intent to Murder, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm,  and Possession of Stolen Property.

Three Robberies in Southwest Feb. 4

A man was robbed of his belongings outside the Waterfront Metro Station Feb. 4, near 399 M St. SW . That’s at least the third in SW the same day.

there were two other robber investigations active in the area. At 5:32 a.m. someone was robbed on the 600 block of Water Street SW. A lookout was issued for a Black male in his twenties wearing a black hodie, black pants and gray mask headed easbound (CCN: 20240058075).

Nearly two hours later, just south on Maine Avenue SW, two suspects with an handgun wearing black cothing used a rifle to rob victims. They fled eastbound in an Audi SUV.


A carjacking involving several juveniles occurred aroun 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, on the unit block of 17th Street NE.  Once the vehicle was stolen some of those associated with it may have moved through the nearby alleys, including those behind homes on the 1600 block of A (north side).
