Upcoming Meetings on Public Safety

There are two meetings this week with Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) and other representatives of the public safety system. The next meeting of the First District community advisory council (1D CAC) has also been scheduled.

Thursday, Oct. 12

The First District has selected Eighth and H Street NE as the first location for MPACT, a new bi-monthly 3 phase initiative with links Multi-Agency, Police, and Community Together.

Various districts will be identifying areas in need of additional focus with public safety being the priority.

The First District’s Multi Agency Walk will take place on Thursday October 12th from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The goal is to bring together different government and non government agencies to highlight and resolve issues residents have brought to the attention of MPD through engagement efforts.

ANC 6B

Later the same day, the 7 p.m. monthly Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC) 6A meeting will focus on public safety.

The commission has invited the Deputy Mayor for Public Safety, H Street Main Street and MPD to speak at the meeting https://anc6a.org/wp-content/uploads/ANCA1023.pdf

The next meeting of the MPD First District Community Advisory Council (1D CAC) takes place Tuesday, Nov. 7, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.

The meetings also provide an opportunity for police officials to assess the impact of their crime-fighting efforts on the community.
