UPDATE, Saturday 5:28 a.m.: Police arrested a 40-year-old District resident in connection with these cases after spotting him near U and 15th Streets SE.

A woman is being treated for non life-threatening injuries after being stabbed Friday morning at Potomac Metro Station (700 14th St. SE).

Metro Transit Police Department (MTPD) said that just before noon June 30, MTPD and DC Fire Emergency Medical Services (DC FEMS) went to the station after getting a report of a stabbing.

“Preliminarily, it appears an adult male suspect stabbed the victim while attempting to rob her while on an escalator,” said the spokesperson.

The same suspect is believed to have committed an armed robbery a week earlier, just down Pennsylvania Avenue SE at Eastern Market Station (701 Pennsylvania Ave. SE). No injuries resulted from the June 24 incident.

Transit Police are looking for help identifying the man in the images above. If you have any information, call 202-962-2121 or text “MyMTPD” (696873). Crime Solvers offers a $1,000 rewards for tips leading to identification and/or arrest or indictment of the suspect involved in this crime.
