Celebrate Summer at the Capital BBQ Festival

Kick off summer at the 31st annual Capital BBQ Festival this weekend. This food and music festival is a fan favorite among DC residents and tourists alike and will benefit USO-Metro, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Capital Area Food Bank.

Barbecue teams from across the country will go head to head for a chance to be crowned the Giant National Barbecue Champion. Teams will also compete in several other cook-offs including a beyond meat challenge, a junior chef challenge, a chicken challenge and more.

Attendees are invited to taste the culinary creations of world renowned chefs and local favorites. Admission to the festival includes free barbecue and grill samples, activities and games for kids and several live music entertainment areas all weekend long. There will also be a brew and wine sampling tent and beverage garden for guests 21 years and older.

Live entertainment including a 90s themed block party and performance stage will feature local, national and international artists and dance groups.

The event will take place on Saturday June 24 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday June 25 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. along Pennsylvania Ave NW between Third and Seventh Streets.
