The 21th annual Capitol Hill Community 4th of July Parade is a local tradition that is considered one of Washington DC’s best events. The traditional parade will take place on Capitol Hill’s Barracks Row this year.
Get your groups together and join in on the fun! Last year we saw record-breaking crowds line the street to join in the fun as the US Marine Corps band kicked off the event.
This year, the parade will be led by the Eastern Marching Band. The parade features school groups, local organizations, businesses and of course the Men in Blue tossing candy to the crowd. Local politicians also fall in line for the parade –Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) has herself marched in the parade for the past several years. Get your groups together and join in on the fun! Register your group here.
The parade traditionally starts at Eighth and I Streets SE at 10 a.m., proceeding along Barracks Row to conclude at Eastern Market Metro Plaza.
Register groups to march or register vehicles that will be in the parade.
