Arrest Made in Sunday Homicide on 14th Street

An arrest has already been made in a homicide that happened on Sunday, April 2, on the 200 block of 14th Street SE, Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced Monday night.

Around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, First District officers went to 14th Street after getting a report of an assault. When they got there, they found an adult male victim with apparent gunshot and stab wounds. They also found an adult female victim suffering from apparent stab wounds.

DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services (DC FEMS) responded to the scene and transported the adult female victim to an area hospital for treatment. She was in critical but stable condition, MPD said.

However, the adult male victim was pronounced deceased and remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

He has been identified as 36-year-old Orlando Galloway of Southeast, DC.

On Monday, April 3, 2023, members of the First District arrested a 39-year-old Southeast man. He was charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed and Assault with Intent to Kill.
