The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Homicide Branch is investigating after a man was killed Saturday night on the 1500 block of First Street SW, a few blocks north of Audi Field.
At approximately 8:44 p.m. Feb. 25, First District officers responded to reports of a shooting. When they got there, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services (DCFEMS) transported the victim to an area hospital. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.
The decedent was identified as 30-year-old Kevin Sharp, of Southeast DC.
MPD currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
