Police Investigate Southwest Homicide

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Homicide Branch is investigating after a man was killed Saturday night on the 1500 block of First Street SW, a few blocks north of Audi Field.

At approximately 8:44 p.m. Feb. 25, First District officers responded to reports of a shooting. When they got there, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services (DCFEMS) transported the victim to an area hospital. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.  

The decedent was identified as 30-year-old Kevin Sharp, of Southeast DC. 

MPD currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s Text Tip Line by sending a text message to 50411.
