The new expansive space, located at 1201 Half St SE, is situated in the heart of the neighborhood’s sports scene. A few steps away from the gates of Nationals Park and the Bullpen, and a short walk from Audi field, Kramer said being in the heart of such a vibrant community is special.

“We love this part of town, we love the neighborhood [and] it felt like a natural place for us to expand.,” Kramer said.

While the space looks significantly different than the converted row houses and interiors of Embassies where they operate across the city, Kramer said the ideology behind the menu remains unchanged.

“The core remains the core,” Kramer said of the menu which will feature Duke’s classics like their famous Proper burger and a variety of English-inspired fare and drinks.

Kramer said he is also considering adding menu features like the ‘visitor’s dugout’ highlighting popular dishes and cuisine from the towns of the visiting teams to Nationals Park and Audi field.

Duke’s will be open Monday through Thursday 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Get details on all five locations at www.dukesgrocery.com
