Police Investigate Two Carjackings

Police are investigating two armed carjackings that took place on the long weekend.

At around 10:08 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, three suspects approached a victim who was still inside of his car. The suspects, one of them armed, demanded the vehicle. The victim was not harmed.

Taken was a gray 2015 Dodge Caravan with DC tag FF5488.

The suspects were described as black male juveniles. One suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, medium complexion, black face mask, about 5’9” with a slim build. Another was wearing a black hooded sweat shirt with a black mask, slim build and about 5’6” tall. Police said the third suspect was noted as a black teenager, but no gender, clothing, or description was provided.

Unit Block K Street

On Sunday, Jan. 15 at around 9 p.m., police say two armed suspects took the driver out of his vehicle in the unit block of K Street SE. Once in the car, the suspects drove away in the vehicle. The victim was unharmed.  The vehicle taken was a black 2020 BMW 530 xi with Minnesota tags 00545734.

Detectives are looking for help locating suspects after an armed robbery of a pizza place that happened on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2022, on the 400 block of 8th Street, Southeast.

At approximately 6:48 pm, two suspects approached the victim, inside of an establishment, at the listed location. One of the suspects assaulted the victim and then brandished a handgun. The suspects took property from the victim then fled the scene.
