School Fall Fests and Pumpkin Sales Help You Fall into the Holiday Season

Fall is here, and this weekend is filled with school and student activities. Check out a few below:
Scout Troop 500 Pumpkin & Honey sale + Coat Drive |Fri 5-7, Sat 9-7, Sunday 9-2. | Lutheran Church of the Reformation (212 E Capitol St. NE)
It’s that time of year! Get your great gourds from Troop 500 at their annual pumpkin sale, held all weekend in front of the Lutheran Church of the Reformation.
The Hill’s own beekeeper Del Voss will be joined by Jan Day of Second Story Honey to sell their sweet, sweet local honey.
 
Consider bringing a new or gently used winter coat to donate for the coat drive.
Funds support the boys and girls of Troop 500 as they camp out do service projects, make donations and have good times.

SCHOOL FALL FESTS

Three Hill elementary schools are hosting their Fall Fests this weekend! Find one near you that meets your spooktacular needs.
Maury ES Fall Fest | Saturday, Oct. 22 | 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. | 1250 Constitution Ave. NE [playground and multi-purpose space] | tickets ($1) or bracelet ($25)
Come join us at Maury‘s Fall Festival to have fun and support our 5th graders as they raise money for the celebration of their last year at Maury. All events are staged by the fifth grade class and families!
This year’s festival includes food, music, haunted house, crafts, face painting, carnival games, musical cake and more! There’s a bouncy house for those in Kindergarten and under.
You can buy bracelets in advance for $25 (or $30 at the door). The price of the bracelet includes:
  • Food ticket (breakfast or lunch options)
  • face painting
  • unlimited haunted house and games
  • craft
  • 3 turns at musical cake
  • 1 entry to a raffle to silly string Principal Payne Chauvenet (PC), music teacher Ms. Mina or art teacher Ms. Bomba OR to get a face paint by Ms. Conant
Individual tickets are also available for sale on-line and at the event. Online sales END Friday 8 p.m. Pickup bracelets and tickets at the entrance on 13th st NE.

Payne Elementary School (1445 C St. SE) is having their Annual Fall Festival on the Payne Elementary Playground at the corner of 15th and C Streets SE (301 15 St. SE). Admission is free and open to all.
Decorate pumpkins, show off your costume and get a seasonal prize in the book character parade at 12:45pm, eat some Nando’s, meet Mirabel from Encanto and Spiderman, visit DC Water and Wendy the waterdrop, pick up a new read at the Scholastic Book Fair, touch a Fire Truck, crafts, and more! Admission is Free, bring the whole family!
Tyler ES Fall Fest | Saturday, Oct. 22 | 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. | 1001 G St. SE | Free + Tickets
This Saturday you’ll find warm drinks, furry farm animals, baked goods and more at the Tyler Fall Festival. There are pony rides, a petting zoo, games, art and food!
Admission and some activities are free, tickets are available for purchase for food and for bonus activities. All sales benefit the Tyler PTA.
