Two men were seriously injured Sunday on H Street NE, one of them a professional football player.
On the evening of August 28, Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) went to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds in what was described as an apparent attempted carjacking.
National Football League (NFL) team the Washington Commanders acknowledged the victim was their rookie running back Brian Robinson.
In a statement, the Commanders asked that his privacy be respected at this time.
I just got done visiting w/Brian. He is in good spirits and wanted me to thank everyone for their kind words, prayers & support. He wants his teammates to know he appreciates them all for reaching out and he loves them all & will be back soon doing what he does best.

Robinson was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Commanders Head Coack Ron Rivera tweeted late Sunday that he had visited with Robinson and he was in good spirits.
A lookout was issued for two black juvenile males with shoulder length dreads, medium complexion, one wearing a black or brown shirt with yellow smiley faces on it.
They are also looking for a vehicle of interest, a white Toyota Camry. It was captured by a nearby surveillance camera and can be seen in the photo above.
