DC residents 18 and older are now eligible to receive Paxlovid, a drug authorized for emergency use by the FDA to treat mild to moderate cases of COVID-19 in adults 12 and older, via telehealth.

A consultation via video call is required to ensure the treatment is right for you. Those eligible will be able to pick up their medication at a pharmacy or have it delivered to their home.

DC Health announced their partnership with Color Health Monday which will offer the free telemedicine program within the District. Paxlovid has been shown to shorten the duration of symptoms and lowers the risk that an individual will develop worsening symptoms.

The program is free for all DC residents and will be conducted virtually. Individuals interested in acquiring the medication will answer questions about their health and then complete a consultation with a clinician.
