This week, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close several lanes for preventative bridge maintenance construction from July 5 through July 8, 2022. All construction will take place weather permitting at the following times.
On the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge over Potomac Parkway, the right lane westbound will remain closed to vehicular traffic. Single temporary lane closure needed for eastbound and westbound on the bridge from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lane closures will be in effect for 24 hours.
On DC I-295 over Nicholson Street Bridge, an alternating single lane closure will be implemented and only one lane will be available for through traffic during night-time for bridge resurfacing work from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Heavy congestion expected during this operation and travelers are advised to seek alternate route.
D Street NW over the I-395 Tunnel, single lane closures will be implemented for both D St and I-395 between the hours of 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
On the ramp from I-66 to Whitehurst Freeway over Potomac Parkway and Rock Creek, a partial ramp closure from I-66 to Whitehurst Freeway will be in place. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
On Taylor Street NE over CSX, single lane closures will be in effect. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
On DC I-295 over CSX Railroad Yard, single lane closures will be in effect for northbound and southbound lanes on DC I-295 between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Message boards will be in place to notify the public of changes.
