The Something in the Water (SITW) music festival will take place from Friday, June 17, 2022 through Sunday, June 19, 2022.

Organized by rapper and produce Pharrell Williams, the three-day concert features a wide variety of artists across a range of genres, from Q-Tip and Justin Timberlake to Emotional Oranges and the Dave Matthews Band.

But for southwest residents, the festival will have an impact much sooner than that.

Build out and set up for the festival begins on Monday, June 13 and continues through Thursday, June 16 on city streets. Road closures will continue through the festival and then tear-down, lasting until Tuesday, June 21.

At the same time, through the period June 13 to 21, the Washington Nationals will host no less than eight games (two on Friday, June 17 alone).

And a demonstration is slated for Saturday, June 18, when the Poor People’s Campaign is set to take place along Pennsylvania Avenue NW.

Mayor Muriel Bowser is set to hold a press conference late Friday morning where she is expected to detail preparations for this weekend’s Pride Festival as well as for next SITW  weekend.
