We’re headed for summer –why not march there?
It’s almost time for the 20th Annual Capitol Hill Community 4th of July parade! Get your group together to be part of the the event.
Hill residents and guests will gather together along Barracks Row to watch community groups, local organizations, politicians, churches, schools, marching bands and the Capitol Hill BID Men in Blue troop by, many tossing candy or handing out swag to the children and attendees.
City officials, including Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) have marched in the parade for the past several years. Get your groups together and join in on the fun!
The parade traditionally begins at Eighth and I Streets SE, proceeding along Barracks Row to conclude at Eastern Market Metro Plaza.
- 9 a.m.: Marchers line up under the highway on 8th and I Sts. SE
- 10:00 a.m.: parade starts on the dot, with Marine Drum and Bugle corp with others to follow, marching North on Eighth street
- ~12 p.m.: parade wraps up at the Eastern Market Metro Plaza.
