AC Hotel Washington DC Capitol Hill Navy Yard (867 New Jersey Ave. SE) is set to open just south of Garfield Park Feb. 3.
The new hotel is designed to offer a “intuitive and timeless European-inspired travel experience”. The two neighborhoods in the name make sense once you see the location on a map –the new hotel is located right at the intersection of Capitol Hill with the Navy Yard, just south of the Southeast Freeway.
When it opens, it will be the third AC Hotel by Marriott in the District. Amenities at the 11-story 225-room hotel include the AC Lounge, where guests can enjoy a handcrafted cocktail and small bites; a 24-hour 10,000-square-feet fitness center, and a 3,000-square-foot flexible meeting space with floor-to-ceiling windows for events, co-working and professional use, including complimentary WiFi to all guests.
Atop the hotel is Smoke & Mirrors, a modern rooftop bar and restaurant designed by Ellis Adams Group. Located on the 11th floor of the property, guests and local residents alike can toast the panoramic views of the city and enjoy small plates under the culinary direction of Executive Chef Raymond Melendez.
Smoke & Mirrors can accommodate up to 350 guests, with space for up to 200 indoors and up to 150 outdoors. With direct views of the U.S. Capitol Building and the Capitol Hill neighborhood below, Smoke & Mirrors offers a new and intriguing vantage point of the city from the south.
