Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) announced that she will hold a virtual community meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, at 5 p.m. The meeting will discuss concerns around the Supreme Court’s new retractable vehicle barrier on the 200 block of A Street NE.

This meeting will be an opportunity for residents of the street to share their concerns about the barrier and to find a solution that works for residents and the court. In a press release, the court believes it has the legal authority to put the barrier on the street.

On Oct. 20, 2021, Norton sent a letter to the court asking about its legal authority for the barrier, and the analysis the court conducted on safety threats to residents.

To attend, RSVP by emailing NortonEvents@mail.house.gov by 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12th.
