Firefighters pulled a man from under a train Sunday night at Potomac Avenue Metro Station (700 14 St. SE).
DC Fire Emergency Medical Services (DCFEMS) said crews were dispatched around 8 p.m. for the report of a person under a train. Once firefighters had confirmed power was down, our members crawled under the train and extricated the victim. The victim was transported to an area trauma center with potentially critical injuries.

“Based upon a preliminary video review from station cameras, a man was struck by a train after it appears he intentionally put himself in the path of the train around 8 p.m. last night at Potomac Ave Station,’ A spokesperson for Metro Transit Police Department (MTPD) said in an email.
He was transported to the hospital conscious and alert with a non-life threatening injury.
