Winterfest at Wundergarten Starts Friday

Wunder Garten (1101 First St. NE) will host its 5th annual WINTERFEST holiday pop up festival from Friday, Dec. 3 through Thursday, Dec. 23. This year’s WINTERFEST is set to be the biggest and best one yet.

Find everything from Christmas trees, seasonal beers and warm cocktails, live entertainment, and evening holiday dance parties at the city’s most festive Bier Garten.

The temperature-controlled Bier Garten will transform into a Hoppy, Holiday, Wonderland. Heavy décor will fill all 13,000 square feet of the indoor/outdoor space to build a holiday junkie’s dream. Guest can sip and mingle with warm cocktails such as spiked ciders and hot chocolates, seasonal beers from local breweries and other libations all while they cozy up next to a roaring fire. A perfect spot for holiday parties!

WINTERFEST’S annual tree lot The Giving Tree Project returns this year, partnering with the North of Massachusetts Business Improvement District (NoMa BID) and Wunder Garten to support the h3 Project whose mission is to end homelessness and human trafficking. A portion of the proceeds from each tree sold will support h3 Project.

The Giving Tree Project has a wide variety of fresh-cut trees – from Fraser Firs, Balsam Firs, Douglas Firs, White Pine, Scotch Pine and Blue Spruce. Tree sizes range from tabletop to 10+ feet. Giving Tree days & hours: Mondays thru Fridays 4p.m. to 8pm; Saturdays & Sundays noon to 8pm.

WINTERFEST will host special guests and events including appearances from Santa himself for Sunday Yappy Hour from 12-3pm to take pictures with the entire family, furry friends included. Weekly events include our popular Trivia Nights every Monday and Tuesday. Classic Christmas Movie Nights sure to spark that warm and fuzzy holiday nostalgia will take place on Wednesdays. Additional weekend festivities feature live performances on Saturdays by local favorites such as Chasing Autumn, and evening holiday themed dance parties including the 80/90’s Dance Party, Night of a 1000 Santas (Who’s Naughty and Who’s Nice), and a holiday staple the Ugly Sweater Party. Thursday, December 9 and 16 will kick the holiday cheer up a notch with the LGBTQIA+ community with “A Christmas Kiki” from 7pm-12am.

WINTERFEST kicks off Friday, December 3rd at 4 p.m. with the annual Grand Opening Party laced with music and entertainment. All are invited to kick off this season of WINTERFEST, DC’s Holiday Hub.  Admission to Winterfest is FREE.
