Usher in the Christmas season with this free event Saturday, Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for kids and their families in the newly-renovated historic Capital Turnaround.
For nearly a century, the Navy Yard Car Barn served as the last stop on the Red Line, repairing and rerouting streetcars across the nation’s capital. This historic building, reverently renovated with exposed concrete columns, a top-notch sound system, and several unique seating areas, was rechristened Capital Turnaround.
Now you can celebrate the start of the holiday season with the family! There is a kiddie-sized Santa train, a sliding skating rink (leave the grippy socks at home!), family movies and the jolly elf himself, Santa –featuring free professional photos.
Kids can check out the beautiful new playspace in the newly-opened children’s rooms! It’s all free.
