The Capitol Hill community is invited to attend a Veterans Day program on Thursday, Nov. 11, beginning at 11 a.m. in Folger Park (Third and D Streets SE). The site is across from American Legion Post 8.
Families can enjoy performances by the US Marine Drum & Bugle Corps and a lone bagpiper from the Emerald Society Firefighters of Washington, DC.
The short patriotic program is both non-denominational and non-political. “Veterans Day is a time to come together to remember and honor those who serve and protect us,” the Legion wrote in a statement.
Post Commander David Carmichael added that he hoped many friends and neighbors will join the Post in observing Veterans Day 2021.
