Live on the Hill, the music program that has been provided on Friday nights will continue through the month of October at Eastern Market Metro Plaza (EMMP).
Councilmember Charles Allen (Ward 6-D) helped secure $150,000 in the District’s FY2022 budget for programming at EMMP. However, that money will not become available until the new fiscal year. Meantime the programs are being paid for by Barracks Row Main Street (BRMS), Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner (ANC) Gerald Sroufe wrote in an email to constituents. His district includes a portion of EMMP as well as Eastern Market.
The concerts were made possible by a joint effort from Allen, BRMS, Eastern Market Main Street (EMMS) and the Capitol Hill BID.
In October, Live on the Hill will present phenomenal jazz musicians who have performed in major arenas across the country. Concerts take place Fridays, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. under the pavillion at Eastern Market Metro Plaza (700 Pennsylvania Ave. SE)
