Man Killed on Third Street Wednesday Morning

A man was shot and killed on the Hill early Wednesday morning.

At around 3:19 a.m., police were called to the 800 block of Third Street SE with reports of a shooting. Officers found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound, displaying no visible signs of life.

UPDATE: police have identified the man as 35-year-old Carl Harris, of no fixed address.

The 800 block of Third Street SE was closed in both directions for the investigation.

The Metropolitan Police Department offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone providing information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a homicide committeed in the District of Columbia.

Carjacking

After two cars were taken at gunpoint Monday, another was taken in an armed carjacking Tuesday night. It happened Aug. 31 at approximately 8:45 p.m. on the 1000 Block of Fourth Street SE.

Four suspects approached the victim and produced a firearm while demanding the victim’s vehicle. All suspects fled in the stolen 2016 charcoal grey Lexus RX 350 bearing DC tags.
