Two Cars Stolen at Gunpoint Monday Night

Two cars were stolen at gunpoint last night in Capitol Riverfront. Police are characterizing one as a robbery and the other as a carjacking.

The first took place at approximately 9:20 p.m. Aug. 30 on the 900 Block of Half Street SE.  Three suspects approached the victim. One produced a handgun, demanding the victim’s car keys.  The suspects then fled in the 2017 black Toyota Camry, which has Virginia tags.

The suspects are described as three black males, late teens to early 20s, 5’8”-6’0” in height, wearing all black clothing with black ski masks.  One of the suspects was armed with a black handgun.

Later last night, there was another armed carjacking. At approximately 10:39 p.m. two suspects, one with a gun, demanding someone hand over their vehicle on the 800 Block of Potomac Avenue SE.  The suspects fled in the car, a white 2019 Kia Forte with Pennsylvania tags.
