Do you have concerns about public safety in your neighborhood? Most of Capitol Hill is i the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) First District, and you can meet with officials from Capitol Police and MPD at a meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7.
The Citizens Advisory Council (CAC) meets online. It is an advisory panel that provides the district commander with information and recommendations from the community on the public’s safety problems and police service needs. Regular CAC meetings like this one are intended to allow residents to meet and discuss police-related issues with the commander.
The meetings also provide an opportunity for police officials to assess the impact of their crime-fighting efforts on the community.
Starting in September, CAC meetings will take place on the first Tuesday of the month. Be sure to join the September meeting, where you will have an opportunity to meet the new First District Commander, Ralph McLean as well as the new Chief of US Capitol Police, Thomas Manger.
The September 1D CAC will be Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m..
