What’s better than a Sunday stroll? A walk through the cemetery –with a guide!

On Sundays through Oct. 31, from 1 to 2 p.m., stroll through Historic Congressional Cemetery (1801 E St. SE.) with a docent.

These Sunday tours are an informal look at the history of Congressional Cemetery. Rather than giving a standard broad look at the cemetery’s history, your docent may pick their favorite stories or give a specialized tour. Join them for a grab bag of history and lore.

The cemetery is open to dogs on Sundays, so visits are bets for those comfortable with off-leash pups. Reservations are now required.

Each tour is limited to nine people. $5 donation per person. No walk-ups allowed. Face coverings are required to be worn by all attendees over the age of two for the entire tour. Comfortable attire is strongly encouraged. Meet the docent inside the front gate.
