Did you stock up on some stuff for the pandemic, but now you’re finding you need space more than emergency stores of toilet paper?
Do some good with your spare rolls! Good Neighbors Capitol Hill is doing a collection of toiletry items for refugee families moving into new apartments.
Since 2016, Good Neighbors —a coalition of eight Capitol Hill congregations plus volunteers from around the DMV– have fully furnished upwards of sixty apartments as well as helped new arrivals (mostly from Afghanistan) learn English, qualify for employment, obtain drivers’ licenses, and navigate the challenges of adapting to a new culture.
The collection is on Saturday, June 5 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the courtyard at St. Mark’s (301 A St SE).
Items needed include:
- Toilet paper
- Toothbrushes
