DC Transitions to Walk-Up COVID Vaccinations May 1

Starting this Saturday, May 1, DC residents aged 18 and up will be able to visit walk-up vaccination sites without a preregistration appointment.

Wednesday, April 28 is the last day appointments will be scheduled through the DC vaccine portal, vaccinate.dc.gov. At the April 26 press conference, Mayor Muriel Bowser said that all those who preregister by that date will receive an appointment.

No appointments will be needed for the 11 high-capacity vaccination sites. These sites will operate in addition to the private clinics and pharmacies that are also administering the vaccine throughout the city, which can be found at vaccinefinder.org

The 11 District-operated sites are as follows [Ward 6 sites are indicated by an asterisk*]:

  • Fort Stanton Recreation Center (1812 Erie St SE)
  • Lamond Recreation Center (20 Tuckerman St NE)
  • Langdon Park Recreation Center (2901 20th St NE)
  • The Providence Health System
