With Christmas upon us, the next question is: what are you doing for New Year’s Eve?
While many types of celebrations have been canceled, The Yards is bringing back its annual kid-friendly Noon Yards Eve. To ring in the new year – even with young ones who might not stay up until midnight – The Yards is hosting a free virtual celebration for you to enjoy at home.
The Yards has reimagined its annual Noon Yards Eve celebration into a take-home celebration kit paired with a virtual party for guests of all ages. The free, family-friendly Noon Yards Celebration Kits will be available by reservation. The Yards will also be partnering with Southeast DC-serving community organizations Horton’s Kids, N Street Village, and Southeast Children’s Fund to donate 200 celebration kits to children in need.
Guests can tune in at 11 a.m. on New Year’s Eve for a virtual party featuring a special performance by a magician, family-friendly concert, and more culminating in a countdown to your very own balloon drop at noon! Celebration Kits will be available to reserve online while supplies last and available for pick-up at The Yards. Noon Yards Celebration Kits will include festive supplies like:

Guests can register to pick up their free Noon Yards celebration kit online here.
Then, pickup your kit at The Yards (355 Water St. SE) either Sunday, Dec. 27 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. or Monday, Dec. 28 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The hour-long celebration starts Thursday, Dec 31 at 11 a.m.
