This year, many are thinking of Holiday decorations earlier than ever. Ready to buy your tree? You can do it right here on the Hill!

Hill schools, scouts and businesses have you covered. Support a school or a cause by choosing your tree, wreath or decorative greenery from a fundraising sale –you can preorder online, and many will deliver.

Or support a local business, many of whom have hundreds of trees, wreathes and decorative items to pick from.

Brent Elementary Christmas Tree and Holiday Sale (301 North Carolina Avenue, SE) | Friday, Dec. 6th 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. * Thursday, Dec 3rd & Friday, Dec. 4th 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. * Saturday, Dec. 5 and Sunday, Dec. 6th 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. * pre-order online

Beautiful fragrant Fraser fir trees will be available for presale starting Nov. 9 at www.brentholidaysale.com. There will be an outdoor on-lot sale that has been reconfigured in accordance with best COVID-19 safety practices to maximize social distancing and contactless purchasing.

Additional greenery, poinsettias, and Hanukkah items will also be available.

To increase the safety of the sale, customers are encouraged to take advantage of the delivery service, as delivery is available on the Hill!

Miner Elementary School Holiday Greenery Sale (601 15th St NE) Fri, Dec. 5, 5p to 8p * Sat, Dec. 6, 9a to 2p; pre-order online until Dec 5.

You can get everything you need to bring the holiday cheer at Miner’s Fifth Annual Holiday Greenery sale! Pre-ordering is open now, so order your perfect tree, garland, wreaths, and tree stands today.

Miner has partnered with Eliot-Hine PTO to offer poinsettias, which can also be pre-ordered from the online store. It’s a great chance to support two schools with one sale!

Pre-ordered goods can be picked up during sale hours Friday, Dec. 4, from 5 to 8 p.m. or Saturday, Dec. 5, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Miner Elementary (601 15th St. NE).

The Greenery Sale will look a little different this year, with masks required and social distancing orovisions in place. But it will be the same joyous way to support our school community. Pre-order your holiday decorations today.

The Scout and Cub Scout Troops [now including both girls and boys as members] are selling trees up to eight feet tall, as well as wreaths and cute little table top trees. Funds raised will go towards the scout scholarship fund, which ensures all kids can participate in scout camps and activities and to purchase equipment such as tents.

Stop by the Church of the Reformation (212 E. Capitol St. NE) and get the green you need to make your home festive. You can park right in front of the church. For a donation, delivery is available on the Hill. The scouts will help load trees onto your car!

The Boy Scouts are also having a coat drive –bring your gently used or new coats to be redistributed to those struggling to keep warm. The Boy Scouts will even have them dry cleaned. Donations will be accepted for drycleaning at the sale.

Eighth Annual Tree Lot for Firefighter’s Burn Foundation at The Salt Line (79 Potomac Ave. SE) Opens noon Nov. 27, then hours are: Monday – Friday from 4 to 9 p.m., and Saturday – Sunday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m..

It’s the 8th annual Christmas Tree Lot at The Salt Line to benefit the DC Firefighter’s Burn Foundation. Get all of your tree needs from tiny table toppers to 12 foot trees including stands, wreaths, garland and collectible ornaments. Delivery options are available!

Sales start Friday, Nov 27th at noon at The Salt Line – so swing by for your post-Thanksgiving meal and a tree!  Exchange yuletide greetings on the heated outdoor patio with a complimentary hot cocktail from The Salt Line following your trip to the tree lot.

Bring the kids for family fun Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. DC firefighters will be visiting TSL and sharing an opportunity for kids to check out a fire truck

The DC Firefighters Burn Foundation is dedicated to assisting in the recovery and rehabilitation of injured firefighters and burn patients in the D.C. Metropolitan Area – supporting burn research, treatment, and rehabilitation programs at Washington Hospital Center as well as the Children’s Burn Camp Program.

Wundergarten Giving Tree Lot (100-198 L St. NE) Starting Sat Nov. 28: M to Fh, 4p to 8 p; F 4p to 9p; Sat & Sun Noon to 9p.

The Giving Tree Lot is back at Wunder Garten this year. You can choose from Frasier Firs, Balsam Firs, Douglas Firs, White Pine, Scotch Pine and Blue Spruce. Tree sizes are all the way from table toppers to more than ten feet.

A percentage of sales support Pathways to Housing DC, a non profit working to end homelessness and support recovery for people with complex health challenges. Last year, the Giving Tree Lot partnership raised $2,500 which was presented to Pathways to Housing DC on Valentine’s Day. Learn more at givingtree.business.site

Eastern Market (Seventh Street at North Carolina Avenue SE) Starting Nov. 27 to Dec. 24: M to F 7a to 8p * Sat & Sun 6a to 6p + C Street (west of Seventh Street SE) weekends only

Four different tree sellers offer trees of all sizes from under the farmer’s shed at Eastern Market. Dunham Farms sells trees on weekdays, while Elliott Warley Jr. and Noah Ashton are available all week. This year, trees will also be sold on weekends only on C Street west of Seventh Street SE (the same block as Capitol Hill Books and Radici).

Delivery is available, usually dispatching at the end of the day. Wreathes, garland and tabletop decorations are available from some of the vendors, and also from Blue Iris Florist in the North Hall inside the market building.

Trees arrive at the Frager’s Garden Center, in the lot behind 1123-29 Pennsylvania Ave SE.

Ginkgo Gardens (911 11th St. SE) has trees, wreaths, greenery, decorations –and everything you need for the gardener on your list.

As you exit the 295 Interstate on your way home from work, stop at Ginkgo Gardens and get a tree to put all those gifts underneath. Ginkgo Gardens (911 11th St SE) received their first shipment of Christmas trees Nov. 25, standing between 3 ft and 10 feet and starting at $39.99. They’ve also got tree stands, lights, decorations, tree ornaments, 15+ types of holiday wreaths and greenery bunches for mantels and home decorating. Tree delivery is available, too.

There’s a huge holiday sale on a Ginkgo’s from Nov. 27 to Christmas Eve, with discounts on everything else, including houseplants, garden tools, trees, shrubs, perennials, windchimes and pottery –up to 50 percent off.
