Are you ready to get your tree? Brent Elementary is bringing a holiday forest to the Hill!
The Brent Elementary School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) will hold its 10th annual Holiday Sale Thursday, Dec. 3 to Sunday, Dec. 6 at Brent (301 North Carolina Ave. SE).
All proceeds will be used to provide critical resources to students and faculty.
New this year is a Donate a Tree Program that allows patrons or local business sponsors to buy a tree for donation and delivery to community families experiencing financial stress. Brent has partnered with Everyone Home DC – a Capitol Hill based charity that has served the community for more than 50 years to help us identify and deliver donated trees to families in Southeast Washington.
Beautiful fragrant Fraser fir trees will be available for presale starting Nov. 9 at www.brentholidaysale.org. There will be an outdoor on-lot sale that has been reconfigured in accordance with best COVID-19 safety practices to maximize social distancing and contactless purchasing. Additional greenery, poinsettias, and Hanukkah items will also be available. To increase the safety of the sale, customers are encouraged to take advantage of the delivery service.
Brent parents volunteer to staff every aspect of the sale. “The Holiday Sale is a highlight of the season. It brings current, past, and future Brent families together along with all of our surrounding neighbors,” said Mary Claire York, the sale’s co-chair. “We have worked especially hard this year to ensure we can continue this community event and conduct a safe sale. We hope we will be everyone’s first choice when shopping for a tree.”
This year’s on-lot sale will be open at 301 N. Carolina Ave. SE on the following days and times:
- Thursday, Dec. 3: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
