Customers have supported of the safe and lively atmosphere featuring high quality produce, seasonal fruits, free-range meats, and a variety of gourmet products from local small businesses. As the seasons change, visitors will also find holiday-relevant goods, Christmas trees, and warm options to incorporate into their Saturday morning routine.

Market manager Diverse Markets Management has also hosted community efforts at the farmers market this year. Through a program by DC Greens and the DC Department of Health Produce Plus Food Boxes were distributed by DMM and Ashton Farms, providing supplemental food options for the community’s most vulnerable and impacted residents. The program was extended by DMM through October with the support of the Southwest Business Improvement District.

In addition, the community has made weekly donations to the Ward 6 Food Bank organized by Mutual Aid at Farmers MarketSW. Zero Waste DC and Compost Cab will continue collecting compost and food waste weekly, and DMM says they will continue to provide protective equipment and a safe shopping environment for all.
