Join Department of Energy and the Environment (DOEE) Director Tommy Wells to honor this year’s District Sustainability Award winners, Tuesday, Sept. 29 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The virtual event features a keynote address from Rev. Lennox Yearwood, Founder and President of the Hip Hop Caucus. Winners include local nonprofit and educational organizations and private sector businesses – and an award for “People’s Choice.”
The annual District Sustainability Awards program recognizes outstanding individuals, businesses, and organizations for understanding and responding to current environmental challenges and social disparities in DC to intentionally build and support equitable, environmental, social, and economic initiatives.
These organizations, businesses, and individuals support the goals of the Sustainable DC 2.0 Plan and Mayor Bowser’s goal to make DC the healthiest, greenest, most livable city for all District residents.
