Spending more time at home? Why not recycle those idle electronics?

Reverse Logistics Group Americas (RLG) and electronics manufacturers Acer, DPI, Google, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, Planar, and VTech have partnered to provide free electronics recycling events for District residents, small businesses, and non-profits at convenient Parks and Recreations locations throughout 2020.

RLG is a global 4PL service provider specializing in the development, operation and regulatory compliance of tailored end-to-end solutions for all aspects of product take-back and returns management. The District of Columbia Sustainable Solid Waste Management requires manufacturers of covered electronic equipment whose products are sold in the District, to register and participate in a recycling program.

Residents, small businesses and non-profits can drop off covered electronic equipment. Equipment covered under the Act includes:  desktop and laptop computers, tablets, E-readers, small-scale servers, portable digital music players that are battery powered, computer monitors, mice, keyboards, computer speakers, desktop printers, televisions, VCRs, DVD players, DVRs, signal converter boxes, cable and satellite receivers and gaming consoles used with TVs.

Events are held on select dates from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in each Ward. The next event takes place Saturday, August 8th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the Edgewood Recreation Center (301 Franklin St NE) in Ward 5. The next Ward 6 event is at Randall Recreation Center (South Capitol & I [Eye] Streets SW) August 15.
