Learn from Home With The AWS

1279

Normally at this time of year, the environmental educators at Anacostia Watershed Society (AWS) are busy providing meaningful outdoor experiences for students of all ages from all across the Anacostia River watershed.  Spring is the busiest season for  the Mussel PowerRice Rangers, and Schools in Schools environmental education programs, and the Saturday Environmental Academy‘s spring session is typically in full swing!

While it’s definitely a bummer that these classes can’t be together during these challenging times, there is still a lot that you can do from home to learn about the watershed and explore the outdoors!

The AWS is launching a “Learning from Home” portal at anacostiaws.org/what-we-do/education. Keep kids learning about their local watershed. Start a Naturalist Notebook and enter the AWS competition. anacostiaws.org.

Whether you are a teacher, caregiver, parent, grandparent, etc. these materials are for you!  AWS will be updating this webpage over the coming weeks with content related to each of the school-based environmental education programs, as well as more general resources that aren’t tied to a specific program.  Learn online today at the AWS website!
