Two suspects carjacked a vehicle at Third and L Street SE early Saturday morning. It was their second attempt of the evening.
At around 5:53 a.m. May 8, a driver stopped at the intersection of Fourth and M Streets SE when a man walked up, pointed a handgun at the driver, and announced it was a carjacking. The driver drove off immediately, without incident.
A few minutes later, two suspects carjacked a red sedan with DC tags at Third and L Streets SE. Those suspects matched the description of those in the earlier incident.
Suspect 1 was described as an African-American male about 5 foot 8 inches tall and 130 pounds. He was wearing light brown pants, a light gray shirt, a dark wool hat. He was between 16 and 20 years old, with no facial hair. He had a medium complexion with a multi-colored face mask and was armed with a silver handgun.
The second suspect was also described as an African American male. He stood about 5 foot 1 inch and had a medium build. He wore a black jacket with a hood and dark pants and had a dark complexion. He carried a silver handgun.
The stolen vehicle is a red Toyota Camry with DC Tags FM7384.
