Signage has been posted on market doors indicating the decision was made ‘out of an abundance of caution’. Merchants and vendors have been notified, and appropriate steps are being taken as recommended by DC Health.
Representatives said that the employee had last worked at the market April 24-25, adding that persons who had been in close contact with the employee had been informed so they could self-quarantine.
Eastern Market is expected to reopen as usual Tuesday, April 28. The market is generally closed Mondays.
