At about 2:30 p.m. the afternoon of April 23, a woman parked her car on the 400 block of Ninth Street SE. As she was walking away from it, a suspect ran up to her and snatched her keys from her open jacket pocket. He then ran to the her car, entered it, and fled the scene. Fortunately, the victim was not injured.
The suspect is described as a 19 or 20-year-old black male, about 5 foot 6 inches tall with a thin build and dark complexion. His hair was styled in a crew cut and he was wearing a black hoodie, dark pants and white sneakers.
ATM Robbery at Knifepoint
Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers are investigating a robbery which happened at around 1:50 a.m. on the 1400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE near an ATM.
The victim stated she had just withdrawn money at the ATM when the suspect approached her. He took a long knife out, then reached into her jacket pocket and stole $120 from her.
The suspect then fled on foot toward Barney Circle SE into a wooded area. The suspect is described as a black male, about five foot 6 inches tall and weighing around 140 pounds and perhaps 43 years old. He was wearing a dark coat, dark pants, carrying a bag and wearing a black surgical mask.
