UPDATE: see our more recent, lengthy but simplified list of restaurants offering delivery by neighborhood here.
UPDATE: During a press conference Monday at 4 p.m., the Mayor announced she had issued an order closing down restaurants, bars and taverns, as of 10 p.m., leaving the option of takeaway and delivery service. While some closed as a result, others chose to remain open.
On Sunday, the DC Health issued a clarification on an earlier ban on large gatherings giving stricter rules for restaurant dining rooms. Rules required tables to be spaced 6 feet apart and no standing or bar service. In response, many small establishments began to announce they would close.
Late Sunday, many restaurants that otherwise did not offer direct take out or delivery services began to announce they will offer the service beginning Monday evening.
The Hill Rag began compiling this list of restaurants open for delivery and or takeaway (now separated into kind of neighborhoods). Note: This information is subject to change; always check your restaurant before venturing out!

Ubereats announced Monday that they have waived the Delivery Fee for the more than 100,000 independent restaurants across US & Canada on Uber Eats. We will also launch daily dedicated, targeted marketing campaigns—both in-app and via email—to promote delivery from local restaurants, epecially those that are new to the app.
A new feature will allow restaurants of all sizes to opt into daily payments on all Uber Eats orders, rather than the typical weekly billing cycle, and the company has offered guidance to restaurants on how to secure deliveries in tamper-proof packaging for reduced contact doorstep delivery.
Don’t see them here? Try to find your favorite independent local restaurant by searching Uber Eats, GrubHub, Door Dash, Caviar and Postmates. Many restaurants are updating their status on social media regularly.
Remember: even if a restaurant is closed, you can still buy a gift card online! Here’s a crowd sourced list for you to consult or add to. Support the workers at those restaurants directly via Venmo through the Virtual Tip Jar.
