Councilmember Charles Allen’s Ward 6 Budget Town Hall has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 25 at 6 p.m.at the newly-modernized Maury Elementary School (1250 Constitution Ave NE). That town hall is likely to go virtual in light of coronavirus concerns.
This annual event breaks down and demystifies the District’s $15 billion budget process and creates an open floor discussion on what Ward 6’s budget priorities should be for the coming year.
The budget town hall will follow past events in format. Councilmember Allen will spend a few minutes walking through the budget process. Then he’ll walk through what the Mayor has proposed for the budget and what he agrees with and what he thinks should be changed. After that, the floor will open for residents to ask questions, and make suggestions.
A livestream on Councilmember Allen’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/CMCharlesAllen) will be available.
Events are subject to change in light of ongoing concerns related to COVID-19 (coronavirus). This stream and potentially a telephone conferencing option may be utilized in light of the COVID-19 emergency declared by the Mayor.
