Did you hear? I’ve cream is coming back to the area around Eastern Market!

In case you missed it: Captain Cookie and the Milkman recently announced that their newest location will open Spring 2020 in Eastern Market, in the former location of Pitango Gelato (660 Seventh St. SE).

The founding duo opened Tastemakers Food Hall in Brookland (2800 Tenth St. NE), where they added their presence on opening in early 2018. Previously, they opened their first brick-and-mortar location near George Washington University at 2000 Pennsylvania Ave. NW (that’s where they usually test flavors, FYI).

They also have three mobile bakery and dairy bar serving fresh-baked cookies, local milk, and made-to-order ice cream sandwiches.

Hill residents may remember sampling their fare locally at the National Capital Bank (NCB) anniversary parties, where Captain Cookie and the Milkman has distributes ice cream cookies for the last few years as part of the celebration.

In addition to the greatest chocolate chip cookie in the world, Captain Cookie serves flavors like Ginger Molasses, Peanut Butter, Cardamom Snickerdoodle, Oatmeal Raisin, Cocoa Cayenne Espresso, Pumpkin Muffaroons as well as the Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie.
