There’s a new Southwest coffee shop!
In December, Sacred Grounds Café (222 M St. SW) staged a soft opening, and they’re gearing up for the Grand Opening in March.
The Cafe is located within the beautiful new St Matthew’s Lutheran Church at the corner of Delaware Ave and M Street. The cafe brews delicious coffee that is local and sustainably sourced by Rise Up Coffee Roasters and offers freshly baked tarts, sweet breads, cakes, and muffins by Honey’s Desserts. Customers can purchase a bag of coffee to brew at home as well as order whole loaves of sweet breads –you’ve got to try the sweet potato bread with cream cheese frosting.
The purpose begins with the fair trade and organic coffee from Rise Up Coffee Roasters. Based in Easton, Maryland, the roaster has a personal relationship with the Central American farmers that grow the beans. Sacred Grounds exists to provide good coffee, delicious food, exceptional hospitality and a central gathering place for friends and neighbors in the gorgeous and spacious setting of St Matthew’s building and outdoor courtyard.
In March, Sacred Grounds Café will host their official Grand Opening. Join them as they celebrate the launch of the new café on Saturday, March 7th, 2020 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Come savor coffee for FREE all day, listen to live music, and sample their delicious backed desserts.
Sacred Grounds is open Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. When the weather warms up in the spring and summer, Sacred Grounds will extend the hours of operation in the evening and opening up anoutdoor courtyard and green space, equipped with ample seating and umbrellas.
