Police Seek Suspects in 13th Street Carjacking

A man was robbed of his property and his car on Sunday evening. At around 8:45 p.m., police responded to a call on the 500 block of 13th Street SE. There, a man told them he had parked his car and was walking away when three men with handguns approached him. They demanded his things, and the victim complied, handing over his possessions, including his car keys.

The suspects found the car and drove away with it. The vehicle was later located in the Sixth District. Fortunately, the victim in this case was not physically harmed.

The suspects were described as black males in dark clothing. One wore red and white shoes.

At 3 a.m. Saturday, a woman was arrested on the 1300 block of H Street NE on charges of Simple Assault.

At 3:19 a.m. Saturday, there was a robbery on the 300 block of Virginia Avenue SE.

At 5:05 a.m. Saturday, a man was arrested on the 200 block of N Street SW on charges of Threatening to do Bodily Harm.

At 12:19 p.m. Saturday, a car was stolen on the 800 block of G Street NE.

At 6:18 p.m. Saturday, there was an assault in the course of a robber outside a liquor store on the 1900 block of Benning Road NE.

 

At 1:10 a.m. Sunday, a woman was arrested on the 600 block of H Street NE on charges of Simple Assault.

At 2 a.m. Sunday, a man was arrested on the 900 block of Maine Avenue SW on charges of Misdemeanor Sex Abuse.

At 2:22 a.m., there was an assault with a dangerous weapon on the 2100 block of I Street NE.

At 6:24 a.m. Sunday, a man was arrested on the 2100 block of I Street NE on charges of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

At 4:30 p.m. Sunday, a man was arrested on the 1700 block of Capitol Avenue NE on charges of Simple Assault.

At 6:26 p.m. Sunday, a man was arrested on the 1400 block of Maryland Avenue NE on charges of Threatening to Do Bodily Harm.

At 9:20 p.m. Sunday, a woman was arrested on the 500 block of 23rd Place NE on charges of Simple Assault.

At 9:55 p.m. Sunday, a car was stolen on the 900 block of Bladensburg Road NE.

Reporting Illegal Activity

Prompt and detailed reporting of suspicious activities helps prevent crime. If a citizen sees suspicious activity, or any activity that seems out of the ordinary, immediately call 911.

When reporting suspicious activity, give an accurate description. Here are some things to include:

Brief description of the activity;

  • Date, time and location of the activity;
  • Physical identifiers of anyone you observed;
  • Descriptions of vehicles;
  • Information about where people involved in suspicious activities may have gone;
  • Your name and contact information.
