On Jan. 18, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., celebrate the MLK Jr. holiday by creating hands-on art using the familiar theme of the “Beloved Community.” What would does a beloved community include? The workshop will be led by art educator Alma Robinson and use the principals of dream integration, love and a non-violent world.  Participants can also take part in a second workshop with art educator Rain Young to create original balloon art of a peace medal or an “I Have a Dream” hat to take home. Both workshops include a guided tour of the “A Right to the City” exhibition with an emphasis on Dr. Martin Luther King’s visit to the Washington, DC Shaw neighborhood. All materials will be provided. Anacostia Community Museum, 1901 Fort Pl. SE. RSVP at anacostia.si.edu.
